Charms

Charms was a required class taught at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was compulsory until O.W.L. but useful for most careers to continue up to N.E.W.T. Similarly to Transfiguration, Charms allowed a more creative approach to magic, where students learnt to levitate objects (Wingardium Leviosa), summon things (Accio) or simply make their wand light up (Lumos). Taught by Professor Flitwick in Harry's time at Hogwarts, this class was unpredictable - as part of the first-year exam, for example, Flitwick's class were asked to magically persuade a pineapple to dance off a desk! This didn't stop Hermione Granger somehow getting a hundred and twelve per cent on that exam, however.
