If you loved a scented gel pen… you would bring the fanciest quill
Ahh there’s nothing quite like the smell of a freshly uncapped scented gel pen. That artificial scent that stuffs itself up your nostrils with an array of aromas from strawberry to apple and even candyfloss (the chocolate one never quite hit the mark though). We’re feeling all nostalgic just thinking about it. If you were the type of person whose pencil case was overflowing with this smelly stationary, then we know exactly what you would bring to Hogwarts… the finest quill your Galleons could buy. You would spend hours examining all the quills in Scrivenshaft’s Quill Shop, compare the quality and colour of every feather and would rock up to Hogwarts with a quill so fancy everybody would be jealous.

If you still constantly talk about the 1990 World Cup™… you would bring a broomstick
Do you still recall the events of the 1990 World Cup? Do you remember the moment that England missed that penalty? Do you still lovingly dissect every single strategy and enthusiastically explain what the managers should have done? Then you’d definitely be bringing a broomstick to Hogwarts. You’re the sporty type, but more specifically, you are the type that loves a team sport. And Quidditch has to be the most thrilling team sport to exist. There’s flying, multiple balls (some with their own agenda) and whole heap of strategy for you to sink your teeth into. Yes, seeing the Hogwarts castle for the first time is exciting but seeing the Quidditch pitch? That’s where you think the real magic is at.

If you loved a Furby™… you would bring a Pygmy Puff
Who remembers Furbies? The fluffy, cute little creatures whose voices weren’t irritating in the slightest… Anyway, these little fuzzy friends took the 90s by storm and everyone seemed to own one. If you were an avid Furby collector, then we know what would be at the top of your list of ‘Things to take to Hogwarts’ – a Pygmy Puff! Cute, colourful and fuzzy they are the perfect wizarding equivalent. Actually, they’re not even equivalent – they’re better! Where a Furby (as sweet as it is) is just a toy, a Pygmy Puff is a living, breathing creature that we’re sure would become your bestie. The two of you would go everywhere together, with your little friend perched on your shoulder whilst keeping you feeling calm through any bout of back-to-school nerves.
If you were attached to your Game Boy™… you would have the best wizard chess set
When you think of icons of the 90s the Game Boy has to be up there. We know we had hours of fun making little figures jump over objects, collecting coins and trying to beat our own high score. While the wizarding world was not swept up in this trend, it did have its own lively offering of games. Bearing that in mind, we think if you were glued to your Game Boy you would bring a wizard chess set to Hogwarts. ‘Chess is boring!’ we hear you cry but it isn’t – especially in the magical world. With pieces that move on their own and battle each other, it’s just as thrilling as any computer game. You would be swept up in the nail-biting tension of an intricate chess match, and, after hours of practice, would eventually become a player to rival Ron Weasley.

If you were a huge Spice Girls™ fan… you would bring your Weird Sisters album
If someone utters the words ‘zig-a-zig-ah’ are you instantly summoned? Do you know exactly which Spice Girl fits your vibe? Can you sing every single one of their songs off by heart? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then we think you know an excellent bop when you hear it and you would appreciate the dulcet tones of the Weird Sisters. Their music might not be quite as sunny as the Spice Girls, but like a certain girl group, they have a huge following in the wizarding world – and we reckon you would be part of that. We can just imagine you hopping on the Hogwarts Express whilst clutching your signed (of course) Weird Sisters album and teaching anyone who would listen the lyrics to ‘Do the Hippogriff’.
