The Weasley family were a well established wizarding family and were included in the Sacred Twenty-Eight - a list of pure-blood wizarding families published in the 1930s. However, the Weasley family were dismissive of the list and were advocates of equality with Muggle-born witches and wizards. The Weasleys lived in a topsy-turvy rural home, The Burrow, and although they were not wealthy and it was crowded with seven children and constant visitors, there was always room for Harry Potter when he needed a place to stay.
