The Battle of Hogwarts took place in what would've been Harry Potter's seventh year of school, after the ascent of Lord Voldemort reached a dramatic climax. Harry, Ron and Hermione returned to Hogwarts to discover the castle had become a battlefield, with Voldemort's allies (including his Death Eaters and an assortment of Dark magical creatures) set against the staff and students of Hogwarts in an almighty conflict that would go down in wizarding history. The battle claimed many victims on both sides (including members of the Order of the Phoenix, the defensive society created to resist Voldemort) but eventually resulted in the Dark Lord's downfall.
