Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is very nearly here - and we've swept up all the best bits to look forward to about the upcoming game. Grab some gameplay sneak peeks right here.

If you've been following Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions on their social channels, you'll start to spot lots of cute teaser content for the game cropping up.

ICYMI, we've wrapped it all up nice and neatly for you here, like a well-packaged Firebolt.

Firstly, the basics

When you step on the pitch in Quidditch Champions, you’ll be playing in a 6v6 style match, with bots filling out at least 3 roles per team. Playing solo, you’ll be able to swap between any of the 6 players on your team at will.

In Multiplayer, players will select from a combination of roles - but we'll get into that a little later.

You can play in a Career Mode, in Cup Matches, and pick up new skills and fresh achievements along the way. Keep an eye out for daily challenges, unlockable rewards, career upgrades and much much more. Step aside Viktor Krum, we're the new Quidditch superstar in town.

Career Mode

Those of you who specialise in sports-focused games will be au fait with career mode already: your chance, as a player, to make it all the way to the top.

For Quidditch Champions, Career Mode means entering four exciting Championship Cups. You can play through all of these Cups solo, with the ability to hop between each position and take over that role from your bot allies, or team up with up to two friends to go head-to-head with bot allies versus the computer.

Cup tournaments include the Burrow Cup, where you’ll learn the basics of flight and position training, and of course the Hogwarts House Quidditch Cup which you'll know all too well from the books and films.

Another familiar championship to look out for is the Quidditch World Cup! Here you’ll play as one of 16 nations and compete in qualifying rounds before going onto the finals to become the ultimate Quidditch Champion. Yes please.

And there is one other cup - but we'll leave that one as a fun surprise.

Going multiplayer

For Quidditch Champions, we're personally super-excited about multiplayer mode. After all, this is a team sport!

In Multiplayer, players will select from a combination of roles (Chaser/Keeper, Chaser/Beater, or Chaser/Seeker) and can swap between their chosen two positions throughout play with their bot taking control of the remaining role.

In this mode, you’ll be competing against your fellow rising stars. You'll be able to 'party up' before a game or try out 'matchmaking' where you can join a group of two other players. Again, you'll be able to combine two positions (Chaser/Keeper, Chaser/Beater, or Chaser/Seeker) or if you're feeling extra-ambitious, select “Any Role” to quickly fill an empty spot in the team.

Brooms!

Yep, without brooms, there would be no Quidditch, and Quidditch Champions is sure to honour the craftsmanship and variety of brooms the game has to offer.

Some of the broom brands you'll know (Nimbus and Firebolt jump out!) but other titles, such as Stormrider and Shooting Star, have us intrigued!

Through play, you’ll be able to collect new cosmetic models (like the Nimbus 2000, 2001, etc.), new broom manufacturers and Moonstones to upgrade each set of manufactured brooms.

These upgrades include improvements to max speed, durability upgrades to boost max health, agility upgrades to advance manoeuvrability, drift, and more! Yes, it all sounds very technical. But you'll get the hang of it. (Just don't be hanging off your broom like a young Harry Potter once did.)

Earn skill points with "The Talent Tree"

As you move through your career, you'll pick up skill points as you enhance your game. Mix, match and experiment with these points to improve stats and unlock special moves to build your perfect play-style for each position.

For example, you can upgrade your tackles as a Chaser, create more Bludger damage as a Beater, or boost your energy as a Seeker. Basically, become your Best Quidditch Self.

Customise your player

Quidditch-Champions-customisation-graphic

Sure, we're thrilled to be finally playing Quidditch, but we also want to look good doing it. The game offers us this opportunity with a fun customisation tool, giving us flexibility over our outfits, broom tails, hairstyles and more.

Players can actually customise their whole team. You could even populate your team with "Hero Characters" AKA having familiar faces joining your ranks. For example, you could have Harry Potter on your team!

Players will also be able to select "emotes" for use during matches, where you can partake in a unique victory celebration at the end of a game (well, if you win, obviously...) and Chasers can fine-tune their goal VFX too. Very cool.

Create your dream Quidditch scenario with Exhibition Mode

This is your chance to get creative. Exhibition Mode allows you and your party to play in a fantasy Quidditch scenario based on what you’ve unlocked by completing career challenges. Play as any team, against any team, at any difficulty, on any map! So, for example, maybe you want to play as Ravenclaw on a snowy Hogwarts day... find the vibe that suits the mood.

And that is only a few cool things to anticipate for Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, hurtling towards you like a speeding Snitch on 3rd September!!
