Deluminator (or Put-Outer)

Deluminator/Put-Outer

Dumbledore's Deluminator (also known as a Put-Outer) was a cigarette lighter sized device that was able to remove, store and return light sources. Useful for acting under the cover of darkness, Dumbledore used this magical object on the night that he left a baby Harry Potter on the doorstep of Prive Drive, ensuring that no nosy neighbour could chance a glimpse of the delivery by magical motorbike. This gadget did more than just control light however, and was particularly useful to Ron Weasley when he was separated from his friends.
